OXTOG: Volunteers Supporting OCC Highways

OXTOG stands for Oxfordshire Together and consists of several initiatives that Parish & Town Councils can get involved with to improve their local roads, pavements and public rights of way.

Thank you to all who have borrowed our sign cleaning kits so far.  We are implementing a system where we have kits in all districts throughout the summer being passed from one parish to the next for efficiency.

If you would like to borrow the equipment as part of a spring cleaning/litter pick or for a specific sign cleaning day please contact volunteercoordinationteam@oxfordshire.gov to reserve your kit.

For more information about OXTOG activities please visit:  Volunteer for highways and your community | Oxfordshire County Council

Goring Heath Update No1

In These Extraordinary Times...

We are updating this website regularly to help our community in these extraordinary times.

There are 1000 of us in this parish, in Whitchurch Hill, Crays Pond and surrounding hamlets.

We know that most of you are in touch with your neighbours and will already have support networks in place.

To help others who may not be in a network,  send in any local information or details you may have to be included on the next update, and elsewhere on this website.

All information is useful, from where you got a good takeaway from, to who is delivering household essentials, supermarket home deliveries, where I could get a thermometer from, to "are the buses still running"?

Could you help someone near you?

Here is a Volunteers Offer Form to offer help as a volunteer. Goring Heath Parish Council are coordinating a team effort. At the moment, we have 20 people who have sent in phone numbers and addresses and have offered to deliver leaflets, keep an eye, and help share local information to keep us all going. You are welcome to join in.

Do you need some help?

Most importantly, we have a Request for Help form. To date, we have had just one request, for neighbours to keep an eye on very elderly independent parents.

We are hoping that this will be useful to anyone without social media.  Some people only have access to email or the telephone, so if you can share your social media community response with us here, we can let everyone know.

To comment or to send in information, email.
